Earthen Place: Dog-Centered Lunch spot near Hayama, Japan

Recently found a very dog friendly space near Hayama, Yokosuka and Zushi, Japan. The Google pin is here: Earthen Place. The food and coffee were good on their own but having space for dogs to run and a menu just for them was just perfect.

How to Get to Earthen Place

Driving is the best way to get to this area with your dog. We went with our friend Lauren and Poi the Good Boy (the golden doodle pictured). The area is not on the train lines but is on bus lines.

There are a few dog friendly spots next door and across the street that we look forward to visiting (Ven! and The House Farm).

What to Eat at Earthen Place

Meals outside of the bakery case and coffee drinks seem to be mainly pre-packed bento boxes – the salmon one I tried was full of flavor.

When ordering your food make sure you are holding your dog off the floor or that they are leashed just outside.

Payments accepted include credit cards or cash. You can buy many grocery goods like coffee beans they roast, cookies, dog treats, and more.

The seasonal desserts and treats all looked so cute and the one I tried for fall was delicious! Fun textures and plays on seasonal produce and flavors.

Parking and Seating at Earthen Place

There is a parking lot in front or a lot at the “top of the hill” with a walkway back down to the restaurant.

There is seating inside near the check out, two outdoor areas for dogs (little or big), and another indoor seating area around the the right after exiting the cafe space.

The view from outside is really pretty, too! Will likely be very pretty but probably chilly in the late fall and winter.
